Optimise Your Browser

This site has been tested on Mozilla Firefox 5.0, Netscape Navigator 6.0, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. Versions higher than these also work. Other browsers and earlier versions of Firefox, Netscape & Internet Explorer may not work. Various browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator & Microsoft Internet Explorer) handle text fonts, colors, and graphics differently. Sometimes, even different versions of the same browsers will display objects differently.

Not all browsers work optimally with our site, and even the most advanced browsers may require some fine-tuning to optimise the displays for your computer. If you have any problems, please consult your browser's help file or contact us.

It is crucial that you have all of the following components enabled within your browser:

  • Cookies
  • All aspects of Java, to include scripting and applets
  • Browsing in a new process
  • HTTP 1.1

You may also choose to temporarily disable script debugging before you begin your assessment. To modify or enable these options, please go to "Tools - Internet Options" if you are using Internet Explorer, "Edit - Preferences" if you are using Netscape Navigator, or "Tools - Options" if you are using Mozilla Firefox. For help on what these settings do, or for more help on how to change them, please view the help file for your browser.

You can download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Netscape Navigator from the links below.

Disconnects & Service Disruptions

If you experience a disruption of your Internet service while you are test, you should be able to re-enter the test you started. If you have begun a test, but not completed or scored it, you should still be able to have the test scored. Once you re-establish your connection to the Internet, reconnect to proveit.com and log in again with your test Session ID. Select the test that you had started prior to losing your Internet connection. In most cases, you should be able to re-enter the test at the point at which you lost connection without any loss of data or progress. However, due to the nature of some tests whose questions must be answered in one sitting and in a sequential order (such as Typing or Data Entry tests) you may have to begin your test again from the first question.

Internet Speed

Depending on the time of day and the capability of your Internet Service Provider, you may experience delays in test. If possible, avoid taking tests during periods of heaviest Internet usage, usually late afternoon and early evening.

The quality and speed of your computer system and Internet connection will also affect the length of time it takes for each test question to load. If your test seems frozen between questions, please wait for at least thirty seconds before attempting to close the test. Also, you may wish to "Refresh" or "Reload" the test question page by using your browser's keyboard shortcut. This should advance you to the next question.

Fit Series

It is recommended that all Applicants use a 1024 x 768 resolution screen or higher for the best experience when taking a Fit Series evaluation.
